Buchanan Rides Alone

Budd Boetticher, 1958

Rating: 4 out of 5

As with all of Boetticher's films that I have seen so far, this is a beautifully photographed idiosyncratic Western that makes for hugely enjoyable viewing. Boetticher's films are raw in that they are often filled with brutal, uncompromising scenes and characters, something that seems to have surely later helped craft Westerns such as A Fistful of Dollars.
